Shannon O’Reilly
Shannon graduated from Roosevelt University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in a hospital setting and private practice before joining the team at Growth Psychological Services. Shannon works individually with teens and adults.
Shannon has extensive experience with a wide range of presenting concerns, including depression, bipolar, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, divorce, relationship conflicts, and with the LGBTQ+ community. She uses a combination of evidence-based interventions, art, psychodynamic, narrative, and person-centered approaches. She has a keen interest in sand tray therapy as a medium for emotional processing.
Shannon uses an authentic and direct, yet gentle, approach to foster relationships with her clients and values meeting clients where they are with empathy, warmth, and acceptance. The relationship between the therapist and client is the most important foundation in successful therapy. Shannon recognizes that change can be a difficult process, but she works hard to provide a safe space where clients can explore their past and grow their potential.
Shannon is in network with Blue Cross PPOs, Aetna, & CIGNA.
